Important Considerations
Population / Age Group
Pay more attention to these patients (who are generally more vulnerable):
• Children
• Elderly (>65 years old)
• Pregnant women
Patient’s condition on arrival
• Came by himself? Brought by car? Brought by ambulance?
• Upon arrival, patient was walking? On wheelchair? On stretcher?
Timing
• Why patient comes to ED
at this time
• Severe/Worsening discomfort (e.g. SOB / chest pain / abdominal pain)/ severe trauma Most of the time if the discomfort / trauma not severe enough, patients would rather prefer to go to clinic / ED the next morning. Therefore, you should pay more attention especially dealing with patients visiting Ed in the midnight.
• Logistic issue (e.g. child finished work at night)
