Introduction
• Osmolal gap = measured serum osmolality – calculated serum osmolality
• Calculated serum osmolality = 2[Na+] + Glucose + Urea
• Marked increased osmolal gap (>25 mOsm) is pathognomonic of toxic alcohol poisoning!
