    Triage

    Primary triage

    • Asking presenting complaint
    • Any evident / potential life-threatening condition / limb or organ injuries
    • Any high risk medical profile?

    📑If patients fulfill the above criteria, patient will be assigned to higher acuity zones e.g. yellow / red zone (bypassing secondary triage)

    Secondary triage

    • Objective assessment: vital signs, brief clinical assessment (e.g. , hydration status)
    • Assign triage category based on findings from objective assessment

    • Initiation of management e.g. pain management, wound dressing, immobilisation, relevant biochemical investigations / imaging

    Red zone

    Yellow zone

    Resuscitate
    Optimise treatment
    Stabilize patient / Monitoring
    Evaluation of treatment

    Tips

    • In any hospital you go, ask for the medication protocol in that hospital / department, and get familiar with it
