Logrolling
• Requires at least 3 rescuers + 1 person to examine the patient’s back
• Raise the bed to optimum level for rescuers
• Patient’s position: lying flat; lower limbs extended; upper limbs extended (palms facing inside)
• Remind patient not to help during turning later
Rescuer 1 head & neck at neutral position to maintain cervical spine stabilization – grasp patient’s shoulders at the neck and gently position patient’s head in between forearms
Rescuer 2 & Rescuer 3 at patient’s same side
Rescuer 2 at patient’s mid-chest and holds patient’s shoulder
Rescuer 3 at patient’s upper lower limbs – one hand holds patient’s hip, another hand hold feet together
• One person counts 1 – 3, then everyone turns the patient simultaneously
• After procedure / assessment done, one person counts 1 – 3, then everyone rolls patient back to supine position
